SAMR Model
Hello everyone!
Welcome to my blog again. Today we are going to understand another model which is SAMR. It provides us with new perspective towards the technology that is used in learning and teaching. It consists of four elements that are substitution, augmentation, modification and redefinition. You can see an image of it to understand it better. Let's learn more about them!

SUBSTITUTION
In this element, we see that technology is still used as a tool to teach the information in a technological way such as showing a word document or powerpoint presentation of the subject instead of giving a hard copy version of it to students. There is a change in the way that is taught.

AUGMENTATION
It refers to the enrichment of the information by using multimedia such as images, videos etc.By doing that teachers can help their students to engage in the class and also turn the class into an active learning environment. In this way, students can also take quizzes with the use of, for example, Quizlet. With this application, teachers can create flashcards by using multimedia like picture. It is also possible for learners to play games in this website.

There is also another website that enriches the learning which is Socrative. It is a website that teachers can prepare quizzes or assignments by using multimedia tools. Here is an image of Socrative.

With the use of padlet, students can send posts, images and videos. It is another website to visualize the learning.
MODIFICATION
In this element, we see the importance of transforming the class to the technologic one and gain a new perspective towards learning management system. The website that is called Edmodo can really help teachers in this aspect. With the aid of this website, teachers can give homework, schedule an event, create assignment or quizz, messaging students and track the progress of their students.

REDIFINITION
The last phase of this model is redefinition which explains the aid of the technology in the way of doing the things that are impossible to do without technology. For instance, Slowly can be useful for students to exchange their ideas with people who live in another country. We can also give the example of Google Docs. Teachers can create a document and students can make changes on it and they can also share their ideas with other students by using the chat section of it which emphasizes information sharing and cooperation. Writing a blog as we do can be another way of writing our opinions about something and then publishing it to the whole world. So, we can easily understand that technology is a savior for us to express our ideas and sharing them without a limitation of place.
