My Udemy Experience

Today, I am going to explain my udemy experiences whis is one of the online course platforms and try to clarify what online course is and what happened in our lives when online courses came up and what kind of benefits online courses have.

What is Udemy?

In short, we can say that Udemy is one of the online course platforms and it is a website that includes paid and free courses on a variety of topic


In order to get some ideas about the online course, I decided to take a free course whose name was "Polite English in Forty Minutes". It covered some topics such as writing a formal letter or making a polite small talk. Now I will try to explain my assumptions briefly by showing you some images.




  • Technology is everywhere
         Individuals can access technology from anywhere to participate in such interaction.

  • Teaching is done in a people-technology-people environment
          An individual can teach with the use of technology and the others are exposed to this teaching with the                   effect of technology
  • Schools are located everywhere
         The place where teaching is done is no longer restricted to the classroom. Individuals can teach from                       anywhere such as a cafeteria or a workplace etc.
  • Lower cost and effective use 
          Individuals can no longer spend too much money on resources and take low-cost courses from the                         Internet and benefit from these courses effectively.

Before I start writing, I want to show you the elements of TPAC model by showing a picture. TPAC is a teaching model that emphasizes the learning process by including some elements like content , pedagogical and technological knowledge. Content Knowledge(CK) It is the piece of information that the teacher knows about the subject itself. It includes theories, concepts, approaches and so on.  What is Flipgrid? Flipgrid is a web platform where students are given the opportunity to share their own ideas or opinions about a topic that is given by their instructor by sharing their video . Teachers can generate a discussion which we can also say a "topic" to be discussed by their students and they can turn their camera on and talk about the topic at a given time. Of course there may be situations where some students do not want to do that but we have a solution for this. Teachers can allow those students to upload an image or an emoji. Generating a discussion As we can clearly see in the picture, there is a topic to be discussed. The students can share their video by clicking on the button "Record a Response" Responses Teachers can watch their students' video that is related to the discussion.
